Struggle

This month has been a financial struggle. Last month was so great and this month was equally not so great. When Tom works a normal week we have no problems paying bills and keeping food on the table. But when he has 3 weeks of not so great we get behind. So, to remedy the behind part I decided to spend less on groceries. Now, I didn’t make that decision without losing some sleep and having to slather on the best eye cream the next morning. I don’t like not having the money to buy food. It goes against the most basic instinct. But I did it. I spent $21 on groceries last week. It was not easy decision and it was not easy to accomplish. The kids started complaining on Monday that there was nothing to eat. Now, that isn’t entirely true. We do have food. We just don’t have the food that they prefer. And by that I mean milk and cereal and lunchmeat. They survived and so did Tom and I. And, you know what? We still have food. This week I am going to try to spend less again. Although I plan on spending more than $21. Oh, and Tom finally had a good week this week. And he impressed upon his boss that he needs to continue to have those kinds of weeks.
