Scare
Posted under Finances by adminI got a scare a few weeks ago. And I do mean it was a scare. The kind that leaves you questioning, your heart thumping, mind reeling and breathing like you just ran a mile. This is what happened. I got a call on my cell. I could tell it was a business number and I debated even answering it. I decided to and I am thankful that I did! It was my cell carrier calling to let me know that my next bill was a whopping $3,300! Now, granted we do have 5 phones and carry an extended service plan on all of them and we do have unlimited texting and nationwide calling. However, never have we gone over our minutes or incurred charges that would leave me staggering.
The customer service gal told me that all of the phones had extra charges. I asked what the charges were for figuring someone had been getting online with their phones. Nope, that wasn’t it. She said all of the extra charges were for texting. She informed that we did not have a texting plan. I told her that we did and we have for the past 2 years. She asked what our plan was and I told her unlimited. While she was looking to see what was going on, I grabbed my last bill. We discovered at the same time what the problem was. When we added a phone and upgraded our plan a bit the month before our texting plan had been dropped off. Thankfully, all of the extra charges were credited back to our account! About a week later another rep called to let me know that the credit had gone through and to tell me our updated bill amount. He also went over all of our options with me because I asked. I was so pleased that they caught that huge bill and called me before I received it in the mail. US Cellular has excellent customer service!
